I've just sort of realised I'm emo. Not the type where some people think you slit your wrists, the type where your bored of what you used to be. I'm your average high school girl, and I'm not sure on my hair, make-up and clothing! I need hair that school will accept, but I want it puffy and I need it to cover my face a bit. I need make-up I can have on at school (eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow) that will look sort of gothicy and emo. And my old, frilly skirts - got to go. I need something I'm not embarrassed to wear - maybe a few skull and crossbones here and there, studded belts and flat, dollie-type shoes. And I want accsessories that make me look stunning, the ones that stand out (clip-in bows ect). By easter, my hair will be dark brown and I was thinking blonde highlights, but I'm not to sure. Its wierd and shoulder length *shudders at the thought of it* Maybe extensions? My skin is normal - not pale, not tanned, and my eyes are bluey grey. Please help me! Thanks!

You ';realized'; you're emo, huh? Sorry, it doesn't really work like that. Why are you going to certain lengths to be something you're obviously not? I know it's a cliche, but seriously, stop making such an effort to fit a label and be YOURSELF. Now there are different types of emo? Last time I checked, emo was a music genre, not wrist slitting or bored teens.As much as it sucks, if you TRY to be this, you're going to get made fun of and most likely called a poser. You have several options. One, you can make blending of your gray smokey eye area a little smaller to achieve less dramatic look. Second, do not fill in lower inner corner tear dot area (just line outer half of the lower lash line). Third, change the color of eyeliner/and/or eyeshadow. Change them to less intense colors such as navy, brown, gray will soften up the whole intense feeling.

So I've been doing my makeup the same for awhile and I kind of want to mix it up a bit...any idea's? I have brown eyes and brown hair if that helps. For the hair, probably get it razor cut at the edges, and uneven. Don't have it short, have it long, razor cut on top, normal on the bottom so it gives a scene look to your hair. Wear cute bows in your hair with 'Hello Kitty' or just cute hearts.

Oki let's start with makeup pale skin black eyeliner black masscara if your good with it :) black liquid eyeliner :) black lipstick make sure you get the powder look. Now hair
search up emo hair styles on google or something then get ideas of that. Ribbons are emo if that helps

a LOT of eyeliner and eyeshadow would make you look emo. your hair should be down and have some hair go over one of your eyes. and just wear a black shirt and black pants. and a black belt with some spikes or something on it.
for the eye makeup put like a neutral base all over your eye like a light shimmery tan or even a light foggy color (very shear)then put a dark blue all over the lid then put a really dark charcoal color in the crease and outer corners of your eyes. take your eyeshadow brush put more charcoal on it and put it right under your lower lash line dont be afraid to go dark. then put dark eye liner on your upper lash smudge it with a q tip your finger or a smudge brush thing. make a cat eye if you would like then put black liner on your tear line and cake-on the mascara and false lashes. for the lip just use a simply clear gloss or chap stick keep your kin kind of pale. for your hair have it sweep over half of your face and if you have long hair take them end of your hair and pin it under so your hair looks shorter you can even get spray black hair color that will wash out when you go in the shower. for the outfit black band tees and black and white stripes with dark or black skinny jeans should do and skater shoes.
Hair - straighten straighten straighten! Fry that crap. Part it on the side and have some covering your face. Spray it black after if you really wanna go all out.
Makeup - Pale, pale, pale. Use a LOT of facewhite and you could even put some on your skin that's showing (neck, arms and legs). Dark eyeshadow, grey or black. Eyeliner, and lots of it. I mean, put it on top AND below. Make it thick. A prime example of this would be Avril Lavigne and her retarded self. She looks like a raccoon. Also, no blush. You wanna be PALE. Lipstick... black if you even wear any. You don't want your eyes to be outdone by anything else on your face though.
Clothes - You don't HAVE to wear black; this is a very common misconception. Emos typically shop at thrift stores or make their own clothes, so you should look kinda raggedy. Tight skinny jeans, dark blue, grey, or black. A tight band shirt or anything that you think would look good. Has to be tight though. Studded belt. Go all out with the accessories, but they have to look cheap. Lots of stuff around your wrists. Black nails. Messenger bag.

a LOT of eyeliner and eyeshadow would make you look emo. your hair should be down and have some hair go over one of your eyes. and just wear a black shirt and black pants. and a black belt with some spikes or something on it.
for the eye makeup put like a neutral base all over your eye like a light shimmery tan or even a light foggy color (very shear)then put a dark blue all over the lid then put a really dark charcoal color in the crease and outer corners of your eyes. take your eyeshadow brush put more charcoal on it and put it right under your lower lash line dont be afraid to go dark. then put dark eye liner on your upper lash smudge it with a q tip your finger or a smudge brush thing. make a cat eye if you would like then put black liner on your tear line and cake-on the mascara and false lashes. for the lip just use a simply clear gloss or chap stick keep your kin kind of pale. for your hair have it sweep over half of your face and if you have long hair take them end of your hair and pin it under so your hair looks shorter you can even get spray black hair color that will wash out when you go in the shower. for the outfit black band tees and black and white stripes with dark or black skinny jeans should do and skater shoes.
Hair - straighten straighten straighten! Fry that crap. Part it on the side and have some covering your face. Spray it black after if you really wanna go all out.
Makeup - Pale, pale, pale. Use a LOT of facewhite and you could even put some on your skin that's showing (neck, arms and legs). Dark eyeshadow, grey or black. Eyeliner, and lots of it. I mean, put it on top AND below. Make it thick. A prime example of this would be Avril Lavigne and her retarded self. She looks like a raccoon. Also, no blush. You wanna be PALE. Lipstick... black if you even wear any. You don't want your eyes to be outdone by anything else on your face though.
Clothes - You don't HAVE to wear black; this is a very common misconception. Emos typically shop at thrift stores or make their own clothes, so you should look kinda raggedy. Tight skinny jeans, dark blue, grey, or black. A tight band shirt or anything that you think would look good. Has to be tight though. Studded belt. Go all out with the accessories, but they have to look cheap. Lots of stuff around your wrists. Black nails. Messenger bag.

i like the more cool colorful hairs like these. i think the makeup should really be lighten up and more natural. instead of black eyeliner, shadow, mascarea, it should all be light brown. and all these people need tans too. dont forget about the wonderful sun !!!
quit wearing black eye liner, dont do ugly faces for the camrea, and theres a bunch of hairs, layer it from 3 inches from your top of your head all te way down into very long, if u get it done by someone u gota see the work they've done before and trust them 100% then put hair spray in it and strighten it to make it have lots and lots of body. then get colors put in it and coon tails. then put 1 or 2 cute bows in it. I LOVE BOWS !

Leave your hair how it is and add some highlights you will look prettier than the emo/scene crap.
You already have the bangs. Dye your hair black with some color in it and put some choppy layers in it. Then it will be easy to tease. You need to tease it in order to make it go poof (which is the scene look)

Well because u hav long hair layering the top a bit would give u more volume on the top of ur hair personally i think Platium Blonde or Balck hair. Then put Pink/blue in ur bangs and maybe some racoon tails in ur longer hair.
Make up - well foundation for ur skin colour , try and keep away from bronzer vo. Then black eyeliner and even some neon eyeshadow.

its a pretty long process becoming 'scene' haha. when i was younger I was a little scene queen.
for your hair... has to be extremly long...with alot of layers. Your going to want to tell you stylist to chop it up , the top layers shouldnt be longer than 2 inches, and slowly getting longer...that way when you style it, you can make it spikey/poofy. Dont dye your hair on your own cause if you mess up...yeah.
scene/emo makeup is basically just heavy eyeliner . just put on a heavy basic eyeliner look on the top and bottom lids and put a tiny wing. should look decent.
other than that, scene/emo kids dont wear to much makeup.
(i dont suggest dying your hair, it has a very nice natural color... and youd have to bleach it to get it dyed. it would ruin it.)

i'm 12 and im 85% emo 15% scene our uniform is .. blue shirt , grey short skirt,blue,red and yellow tie,blue jumper and then you can either wear black tights , grey or black knee high socks or short white socks.(some of us wear legwarmers) we are not aloud makeup but most of us wear it anyway but it cant be noticeable !! If you decide to relax your hair dont use a home kit, go to a specific cutting bar where they deal with afro locks.. though i think you shouldnt white yourself up! afro hair runs cool witht he emo look - its who you are. Maybe some bleached or red highlights to freak it out a bit?

as for hair, consider getting a really strong hairspray, and depending on your hair length, you can back comb it (look up on google how to back comb) to make it poof out.

get clothes from thrift stores, there are the really fashionable emo peopel, then there are the care-free emo people who wear baggy rolled up sleeve t-shirts, but they look just as good.
as for hair, consider getting a really strong hairspray, and depending on your hair length, you can back comb it (look up on google how to back comb) to make it poof out.
eyeliner, depending on the shape of your eyes, you might want to expiriment with it.
If you REALLY want to fit the stereotype..

Hair: Go look on photobucket at ';emo hair';. Choppy layers, dye it black and put in crazy, unnatural colors or colors that contrast with your black hair, like blonde or white. side bangs.
Eyemakeup: Black eyeliner(the winged, cat-eye look is very common). Bright, neon eyeshadows.
But it is still a bit confusing that if you already listen to ';emo'; music and know so much about it, that you have to ask.

Okay i'm not dumb or anything but emo's at an age of 12 years old wear sooo much makeup.
I see some people with LOADS and LOADS of eyeliner at the age of 11/12!
And someone with eyeshadow up to there eyebrows!
I think thats wrong.

but if you know any emo kid that is ';expressing'; themself like that, ceep an eye on them, they might be on a path to really damaging themself..
My question is where are the parents of these kids? That is WAY too young to be wearing make-up. At that age what do they have to be sad about? They are too young to be sad!!! Be a kid have fun and don't worry about the problems of the world. Leave the problem to the adults.

Take your eye paint or eyeliner and apply it carefully on the bottom of your eyes. Make sure you get close to the lash line. Start on the inside corner of your eye and make a thin line going to the outside of your eye.Then add more black over the top, keep adding black till you cannot see anything more ! This gives it a dark emo effect
Apply your eye paint/eyeliner in the same manner on top. Try for a rounded edge on the outside corner of your eye.
Apply a healthy amount of eye shadow to your eyelids after the eyeliner has dried.
Apply two coats of black mascara. [optional]
Use foundation in a tone slightly lighter than your skin tone, or your own skin tone.
Put a tiny bit of lipstick on. Blend it well into your lips and blot some off for a tinting effect. You could also use lipstick the same color as your skin tone.[according to the picture of Avril Lavigne, you also can use different shades of lipstick/gloss/balm]
These are some tips that may help you:
Rest your elbow on a flat surface while applying make up, so your hands won't shake.
Apply makeup in a daylit room, when possible, as daylight is the harshest kind of light and everything shows up.
Look at other people's makeup to get ideas. Never use their makeup ideas as your finished product!
Guys: Ask a girl to help you if you can't manage on your own
Lip color should not be dark, bright or dramatic. Dark red and black lipstick aren't emo, they are gothic. You should only use purple or dark red if your skin is dark.
Consider ditching lip colors and gloss all together in favor of chap stick.
Avoid excessively shiny or sparkly lip gloss - shiny is not the way to go, though a slight glimmer is okay.
You can use kohl or an eye pencil instead of emo eye paint or liquid liner.
Your face doesn't have to be covered in powder; use it only if you want to.
Don't use a foundation more than two shades lighter than your skin tone. While pale skin is stereotypical, look healthy.
If you have a very light skin complexion and maybe even darker eyes, you may want to use colours like dark brown and crimson.

mostly she is just wearing a lot of eyeliner also around the bottom of the eyes... find an eyeliner with i smudge tip on one end and apply a good amount to the upper and lower lids around the eyed than smudge outwards from the eyes and also from mid uper lid to outer point in a horizontal line to make a sort of chinese look. never use blush if anything use face powder a little lighter than your normal skin color, also black lips if you are so inclined to buy black lipstick... :) happy emo punkness

firstly, grab some Black eyeliner and eye shadow and apply. literally frame your eyes and apply the eye shadow to the whole eyelid. Flicks at the edge can be nice..
the bottom of your eye, use pencil eyeliner, top can be for the liquid!

get black eyeliner and put it all over ur eyelid, then put some on the bottom. take black eyeshadow and blend it all in. then put a little bit of yellow eyeshadow on top of it all.

mostly she is just wearing a lot of eyeliner also around the bottom of the eyes... find an eyeliner with i smudge tip on one end and apply a good amount to the upper and lower lids around the eyed than smudge outwards from the eyes and also from mid uper lid to outer point in a horizontal line to make a sort of chinese look. never use blush if anything use face powder a little lighter than your normal skin color, also black lips if you are so inclined to buy black lipstick... :) happy emo punkness

firstly, grab some Black eyeliner and eye shadow and apply. literally frame your eyes and apply the eye shadow to the whole eyelid. Flicks at the edge can be nice..

If your hair is layered, tease the top layers. Rub some mousse into your roots, and using a rat's tail comb, back comb a section of hair. Soo..you take a clump of hair and and brush down towards your scalp until the piece of hair is standing up. Keep doing this until you think it's enough. So you should have a lion's mane on your head by the time you finish. Hairspray it to keep it in place. Search it up on youtube..I can't do that for you because my internet is being a *****.
As for makeup? Well I don't use it so I don't really know. Eyeliner, eyeliner, eyeliner. Mascara. Oh yeah eyeliner on the top lash line and a silver liner on the bottom..that opens up your eyes. Natural looking lips..just Chapstick would do. Nothing too colorful. And don't label yourself as emo..that's why people call you poser D=Emo/scene hair and makeup?

It's all about MAC for an emo kid. They have the most pigmented colors and the best selection. Eyelashes are not too hard to apply once you get used to them, but don't go overboard on the length. The individual ones look more natural, but the strip lashes are quicker to apply- and it doesn't sound like you're going for natural anyway. There are some lashes that look really separated, almost clumpy, that I think would give you a really hot, dramatic look over your black liner. Adding vaseline to your lids after applying a lot of black eyeliner is an awesome look, but it can slip off over time. If you are using bright, matte eyeshadows, apply them along the lashline and add a black winged liner. Or, apply them to the outer edge of the eye above the crease to open your eye up. If you are using a bright shimmer, apply it over your entire eyelid under the crease. When you do these heavy eyes, pair them with a nude or light pink lip. Nothing wrong with a bright red, pink, or orange lip either. If I were you, I'd use bright lipstick and top it with matching gloss. Shine really makes the look pop. Remember to accent either eyes or lips- one at a time. This is especially important when the one you do is so heavy. Make sure you pick colors that are right for you. ive used fake eyelashes, they are really fun, and they arent too hard to put on. but on makeup im not sure. ive seen friends do crazy things. one girl used to do a perfect rainbow with eyeshadow on her eyes and under them..it looked really awsome. but just be creative. the only way to really find out what you like is to sit in fornt of a mirror and experiment with colors and all that. have fun with it.

ive used fake eyelashes, they are really fun, and they arent too hard to put on. but on makeup im not sure. ive seen friends do crazy things. one girl used to do a perfect rainbow with eyeshadow on her eyes and under them..it looked really awsome. but just be creative. the only way to really find out what you like is to sit in fornt of a mirror and experiment with colors and all that. have fun with it.

my friends and i just try different things. I like to put on two different colors at the same time. You can put one color on your top lid then another on your bottom. or put a darker color on the outer corner of your eye and a lighter one on the inside. if you do that you can also put another color in the center of your lid. mostly i like to smudge creamy shimmer color all over my lids. play around with it.

Id say the look, it's totally easy enough to achieve...
Get a decent black eyeliner, one that has a softer texture, rather than the pencil type, I don't know if these particular types have a name? But they are wound up, instead of sharpened. You could also use liquid eyeliner, but it takes quite a steady hand, and a bit of practice. So I would just stick to the crayon type one for now.. Use it to line where your lashes lie on both bottom and top eyelids, and also do the corners. Heavy eyeliner on the inside corners of your eyes usually looks quite effective, as it draws your eyes in making them seem smaller, and also gives quite a sexy look at the same time. Using your finger, smudge the line a bit on the bottom of your eyelid, so that the line does not appear too harsh or bold. If you like, use a little dark brown or black eyeshadow over the lines that you have drawn to also help with making the lines a little softer- less harsh. If you cant be bothered, then don't worry. Apply some mascara, a little on the bottom and inside top. and a lot on the outer most lashes on the top eyelid, as this will open the eyes a bit and give a more dramatic look.

You know what? Hair care companies make a fortune telling people that they need to change their hair. People look best letting their hair go the way nature intended it to go. Seriously. Let your hair go curly. Curly is very sensuous. People want to feel it and play with it.
As for makeup less really is better. Stay with a pale face and pick either your eyes or mouth to emphasize but not both.
If you go with your mouth, make it as red as you can get. Don't outline it or try to improve on nature. Just make it red, red, red.
If it's your eyes, lightly do your lids in gray, a little under your lower lashes and then tons of black mascara. The object is to make your eyes huge dark pools of drama in your face so that someone looking at you is drawn into them like a black hole.
The biggest mistake people make is to over-use the makeup. People should see you not the makeup. You can test this by putting your makeup on and turning away from the mirror for a minute. When you turn back quickly, what's the first thing you notice on your face? Is it your whole face or your makeup? If it's the makeup, you have too much on.
the people that are saying you need to straighten your hair are wrong, ive seen plenty of ';scene'; girls with curly hair, and in my opinion curly hair looks good shorter (like shoulder length) because it has more volume. when your hair is damp rub a frizz cream on it then get gel all over hair and start ';scrunching'; lightly. as for makeup dont try to be goth just do a ';kind of'; thick line of eyeliner on bottom and top and then get a nice eyeshadow you like then use mascara. good luck!

the hair idk if i could help with unless u just straighten it everyday, but the makeup on the other hand im ok at. so im emoish (according to ppl at my school) and i like the colors black and red. i got red eyeshadow, red eyeliner, and black eyeliner. first, put the black eyeliner on really thick on the bottom....(you can do the top too the same way but it looks better without it in my opinion)...and then i take either a q-tip or a small angled brush and put it in the red eyeshadow and put it all on my top lid, then i take the outer edges of my eye and take that eyeshadow up to my eyebrows to make me look kinda evil lol. then if u want more of the color (red in this case) u take that color eyeliner and put a little unser the black on ur bottom lid. remember this can be any color u want but u kinda have to have black in it.
well im a prep and i have emo friends with pin straight hair.....u cant have curly hair when ur emo so straighten it as for the makeup...
~ choose your eyeshadow color. my friends usualy use bright colors like hot pink, lime green, or turquoise, but any color will do really
~so after you've put your eye primer both on your lid and on your lash line under your eye you use a baby angled eyeshadow brush to put your eyeshadow all around your eye
~next put on black eyeliner. Start on the inside of your eye with a thin line, getting thicker as you reach the outside corner (this applies to both the top and the bottom) If you want you can draw a line or design in the outside corner of your eye
~Next put black mascara on both your top and bottom lashes (if you want curl them before you put on the mascara, because curling them after you put on mascara can damage them)
~And there you go emo makeup

This is usualy just regular ole' mary Kay. You should go to a Sally's beauty supply because the makeup is cheaper and you get more color selections. Try avon catalogues as well. Mostly, you learn by doing. Get the picture of what you want and tape it to the mirror. Then copy it one day when you have nothign else to do. You're going to to want some bright colors of eye makeup, some eye liner - liquid. this will take some practice and a steady hand. Also, some deep red and black lipstick. Put your cheek color under your cheek bone, not over it. Also, find a good, solid base and powder. You want to look as pale as possible and you do this by contrasting light base, with deeper tones of cheek color.
Finally, an eyeliner (kohl black) will be very helpful. You can use it as a lip liner (with red or black lipstick) and also to color any beauty marks you might have. Find your inspiration not just from goth pictures, but also from the twenties (those chick could put on some paint) and from the sixties and early severties when things like doe eyes (an eyeliner trick) were developed. What's your budget? If cost is no object, Mac, Urban Decay, Makeup Forever are great with their collection of vibrant and durable wearing colors and they can be purchased at major department stores or Sephora. Larenim is an online mineral makeup company that has some great stuff as well. For a cheaper option, try the HIP pigments by L'oreal at your local drugstore or Fyrinnae although that can only be purchased online.
Go to youtube and search for ';dramatic eye makeup';. I'm sure you'll find plenty of video tutorials on how to apply the makeup. Otherwise, it's rather hard to describe if you have no idea at all about how to apply eye makeup.
You'll need a good set of makeup brushes. Mac makes some nice brushes but they are also very expensive. Sephora brand brushes are pretty nice and less expensive than Mac but still a little pricey. This is usualy just regular ole' mary Kay. You should go to a Sally's beauty supply because the makeup is cheaper and you get more color selections. Try avon catalogues as well. Mostly, you learn by doing. Get the picture of what you want and tape it to the mirror. Then copy it one day when you have nothign else to do. You're going to to want some bright colors of eye makeup, some eye liner - liquid. this will take some practice and a steady hand. Also, some deep red and black lipstick. Put your cheek color under your cheek bone, not over it. Also, find a good, solid base and powder. You want to look as pale as possible and you do this by contrasting light base, with deeper tones of cheek color.
Finally, an eyeliner (kohl black) will be very helpful. You can use it as a lip liner (with red or black lipstick) and also to color any beauty marks you might have. Find your inspiration not just from goth pictures, but also from the twenties (those chick could put on some paint) and from the sixties and early severties when things like doe eyes (an eyeliner trick) were developed. What's your budget? If cost is no object, Mac, Urban Decay, Makeup Forever are great with their collection of vibrant and durable wearing colors and they can be purchased at major department stores or Sephora. Larenim is an online mineral makeup company that has some great stuff as well. For a cheaper option, try the HIP pigments by L'oreal at your local drugstore or Fyrinnae although that can only be purchased online.
Go to youtube and search for ';dramatic eye makeup';. I'm sure you'll find plenty of video tutorials on how to apply the makeup. Otherwise, it's rather hard to describe if you have no idea at all about how to apply eye makeup.
You'll need a good set of makeup brushes. Mac makes some nice brushes but they are also very expensive. Sephora brand brushes are pretty nice and less expensive than Mac but still a little pricey. Emo hair and makeup tips?
um, yeah, im not a poseur or w/e i just can't seem to put on makeup well, so i need tips on what to find/how to put it on... ahhaa... and basically my style is kinda emo, but a little scene, so i dunno... yeah, here's some links so u can see what i look like...

well for makeup, you can basically just line your inner rims with black eyeliner, then put a thick line of black eyeshadow around (not in the inner corner though, unless you want to look REALLY emo), concentrating on the outer corner (like a cat eye, but less).
put on a couple coats of black mascara and fake lashes, and either leave your lips nude or wear some nude lipgloss (mac lipglass in c-thru is my favorite).
don't be too tanned, or else it will look gross and trashy.
for a more scene than emo look, buy some super bright mac eyeshadow in basically any colors you want, as long as they're really bright, be creative, and use it instead of the black eyeshadow (but still use the eyeliner, mascara, and fake lashes).
when you do this, you don't necessarily need the nude lips, you can pretty much do any shade of pink or red, just make sure it looks nice with your skin tone.
Just put on some glossy lip gloss,and curl your eye lashes,and one coat of mascara..nice %26amp; natural
i say keep your hair the way it is but straiten it like emo kids do and wear bright eye shadow with dark eyeliner thats the way we do around here.....

First, for the makeup:
You can wear eyeliner, lipgloss, foundation, and a bit of blush if you're going for the simple and natural look. If you want to look a bit dramatic but not too extreme, use the smokey eye effect with dark eyeshadows, or even rainbow colors.
As for me, I love the Dramatic Barbie Doll look, so I wear really hot pink bright lipgloss, really really dark rosie pink blush, and etc.
Hair: It really depends on your length of hair right now, and your face shape but what's really popular now for us, is layered hair. Also make sure your hair has a lot of volume, cause you don't wanna make it look too flat, but also not..too too puffy.

Alot of girls whose natural hair color isn't brown or black, dye it that color, and have colorful streaks. Straight bangs are also popular depending on face shape, mostly a oval.

Punk: T-shirts with skeletons, or anything related to Punk, band T-shirts.
Emo: Same shirts as Punk but sometimes, really cute shirts like HelloKitty, or rainbow shirts. (Depends on your personality)
Hoodies: Instead of wearing jackets, mostly hoodies, for example I wear hoodies that have a pink and black tiger pattern.
Bottoms: Skinny jeans, or skirts from time to time.
Dresses: Sure, but that won't be your daily wear for the whole year of course.
Shoes: Skateboard shoes, converse, or Van style shoes.

Piercings: if you wish, mostly lip or nose is popular.
Belts: we also love to collect belts.
Other: Anything else that suits your taste, you can wear!

punk rockers who also are skaters wear baggy pants and skater shoes.
the REAL punk rockers don't have a label you know.they dress how they want.and if they put make-up on(the girls)it's just eyeliner actually and mascara eventually!the hair is like...well everywhere=)).red or pink,crazy hairstyles...
but if you ain't emo,skater or punk-rocker,don't try to be one.it's fake and you'll be labeled as ';wannabe';
Okay don't freak out my brother is an emo want to be so i can help you out, okay always have your hair in your eyes, and don't put barettees in it either. Wear black when your in public and if you have a MP3 player or an ipod or even a portible CD player carrie that around to school to the mall and places like that. remember liten to punk music okay! and for makeup if you want to put eye shadow on put black or grey or white on the put HEAVY eye liner and mascara (black) I think that should help you! First, for the makeup:
You can wear eyeliner, lipgloss, foundation, and a bit of blush if you're going for the simple and natural look. If you want to look a bit dramatic but not too extreme, use the smokey eye effect with dark eyeshadows, or even rainbow colors.
As for me, I love the Dramatic Barbie Doll look, so I wear really hot pink bright lipgloss, really really dark rosie pink blush, and etc.
Hair: It really depends on your length of hair right now, and your face shape but what's really popular now for us, is layered hair. Also make sure your hair has a lot of volume, cause you don't wanna make it look too flat, but also not..too too puffy.

Alot of girls whose natural hair color isn't brown or black, dye it that color, and have colorful streaks. Straight bangs are also popular depending on face shape, mostly a oval.
Clothes:
Punk: T-shirts with skeletons, or anything related to Punk, band T-shirts.
Emo: Same shirts as Punk but sometimes, really cute shirts like HelloKitty, or rainbow shirts. (Depends on your personality)
Hoodies: Instead of wearing jackets, mostly hoodies, for example I wear hoodies that have a pink and black tiger pattern.
Bottoms: Skinny jeans, or skirts from time to time.
Dresses: Sure, but that won't be your daily wear for the whole year of course.
Shoes: Skateboard shoes, converse, or Van style shoes.

Accesories:
Hair: Ribbons (big bow), bow hairclips, cute hairclips like HelloKitty, Dora the explorer. Not alot of girls wear Dora and etc. cause they don't want to be made fun of, but just wear what you feel like without anyone telling you what to wear.
Earrings: Anything you wish, doesn't have to match your outfit. Be creative!
Necklaces: anything
Bracelets: I tend to wear those skinny plastic bracelets that are bendable, or rainbow beaded bracelets.
Rings: Mostly I like those plastic rings, up t o you though.
Piercings: if you wish, mostly lip or nose is popular.
Belts: we also love to collect belts.
Other: Anything else that suits your taste, you can wear!
