Am i a goth or emo just because i wear dark makeup and listen to hawthorne heights or blue october?

My friend thinks that i am a slutty ***** because i wear dark make-up and listen to songs like ohio is for lovers and hate me - by blue october. i also listen to kelly clarkson and christina agulaira.. sometimes i paint my nails black but only a couple of times. i wear all different kinds of colors... i just think why does it matter.. ITS LABELING!!! i hate that. can you help me please?Am i a goth or emo just because i wear dark makeup and listen to hawthorne heights or blue october?
You are what you want to be. Don't identify yourself by the labels people put on you. If you like wearing dark makeup and like listening to dark songs, so be it. Throughout the years I've worn many different styles of clothes and listened to all kinds of music. There is nothing that's better than anything else. It's all self-expression. Just be confident that you are who you are, even if it's misunderstood. The labels will eventually fade and all you'll be left with is yourself anyway. I think that people should be loved and like for who they are not what they wear, for crying out loud what happened to freedom.

If you are a teenager, its pretty typical to feel confused about your own identity and unfortunetly society has not made it any easier either. If you are happy and content with who you are as a person, than what everybody else things should not matter to you. You have to be happy with your own skin no matter what you wear on the outside.
R u sure it's the make up and the music that makes her think you are a slutty *****? I'm not gonna lie that is kinda weird lifestyle but if it makes you happy then who cares what anyone else thinks. Be yourself, anyone that has any objections tell them that they have two choices, love you or leave you alone!!!

If you have dark black hair, wear mostly black with weird stuff, and look freaky then you are goth, if you wear different colors and don't look so freaky then your not. Just be who you are I guess...
